I am retired from the faculty of the Department of Entomology and Nematology at the University of California Davis after 34 years. I have a Ph.D in Entomology from UC Berkeley. My research involved pests of agriculture and landscape, exotic pests and biological control agents (insect predators and parasitoids) and I have published more than a hundred research publications, extension publications, books and book chapters in these areas. I currently volunteer as a docent naturalist at the Effie Yeaw Center in Sacramento and plan to be involved in inaturalist as part of that activity.
