I am a lifelong birder with a passion for all aspects of ecology. I have also been an avid aquarium hobbyist and angler for many years, which has contributed to a fascination with all aquatic flora and fauna. iNaturalist has helped me develop a wider appreciation for and knowledge of local organisms, leading me to blacklight at night for insects, wade through waist-deep swamps for rare orchids, or trek miles to catch a glimpse of an obscure bird.

I currently work as a biologist involved with rare plant conservation in the Miami area. I am also a Master's student at FIU where my thesis project will explore migratory bird diversity in tropical hardwood hammock habitat.
