About 2012 I began to photograph mushrooms in Mendocino, California and there was a tremendous variety of sizes types and colors. I began to get guidebooks and learned to identify the various local mushrooms. My camera was a point and shoot on a micro tripod. Over time I upgraded my camera and tripod and began helping others. Next came Lepidoptera-- butterfly photography and identification. I was already a bird enthusiast and began to add bird photos and other wildlife-- reptiles and insects.
