I often go to less-surveyed locations while helping with Maryland's Breeding Bird Atlas, so I figure that iNaturalist observations for those locations would also be particularly valuable. When there is a lull in bird activity, I can still make good use of my time looking for other interesting lifeforms!

I find that reviewing other people's observations is a good way to refine my identification skills and improve my memory. In particular, I like to specialize in identifying species that are often confused with similar species, but can usually be distinguished if you know what to look for.
