I am interested in flora and fauna around my home in North Central Texas, especially those of the native blackland prairie. I focus on plants now, but include bugs, birds, mammals, and others as I manage to photograph them. Many of the plants that I find are non-native and invasive, as I live in an urban area, but I think those are interesting, too.

I've been a member of or participated with nature-oriented groups such as The Native Prairie Association of Texas, Audubon Dallas, Friends of Tandy Hills Nature Area, Cedar Ridge Preserve, Spring Creek Preserve, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and North Texas Master Naturalists. I volunteer to restore and maintain prairies around the area.

My education and work has been in engineering, applied mechanics, scientific software, and mechatronic device development.
