Amateur botanist in northeastern Maricopa County, Arizona. I'm involved in the Desert Foothills Land Trust and the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy Field Institute. I can also be found poking around the nearby Tonto National Forest or in front of this computer. The profile photo demonstrates the utility of spectacular near-sightedness for a field botanist; who needs magnification as long as you have a good set of kneepads? (Sadly, cataract surgery in early 2021 eliminated that superpower, but happily it also eliminated the cataracts! And +3 reading glasses are the newest tool in my field pack.)
