I am a retired wildlife biologist, mainly birds but generally interested in natural history. My professional background has been with birds and ecosystems in Hawaii, New Guinea, and the Mariana Islands. I've also spent much time in the San Juan Islands, Washington State, USA. Actually, there are two of us. My wife Linda Pratt is a retired botanist. We make our identifications using reference books and usually key out all plants via floras.
