I'm active in citizen science activities and coordinate Christmas Bird Counts at Joshua Tree National Park and Morongo Valley, CA. Together with my wife, Marilyn Lutz, we conduct three annual NABA butterfly counts in the Joshua Tree area and participate in other area bird and butterfly counts.
