Notes:

To participate in CNC-2022 you do not have to make observations in a guided walk. As matter fact most observations during CNC are done independently. But it is great to go out with experience guided walk with others, you may learn something new and it’s fun. Please dress to walk in a natural area, bring your own water in re-useable water bottle and be safe.

If your SA-Area organization in the 12 Counties would like to post a CNC-2022 event. Contact PeterJoseph via iNaturalist.

Hello all. I may regret this comment, but I want to encourage people to submit observations of native trees during the CNC. If you can provide closeups of leaves, bark or fruit/nut/berry, that would help. Many of our native trees are humble and nuanced, but spring is a great time to ID trees by their blooms.

I will try to recruit knowledgeable identifiers. We know that the iNaturalist community will voraciously report new wildlife and wildflowers, and I just want you to know that we appreciate the "sightings" of native trees just as much as we do the critters that perch on them. Best, Lissa Martinez
