Giant Ichneumon Wasp was found trapped in the butterfly house. I captured it and let it free.
The insect is about 2 inches with an ovipositor of 3-4 inches. While scary, they are very docile and do not sting. This is a female.
My first sighting of one of these.

First first sighting of a great purple hairstreak. It seems like the red colors I see in the books are washed out or I don't know why they appear much lighter. I took this with my iphone on a cloudy day today.
