A longtime professional environmentalist living in Sonoma County, I'm now retired and upping my game on identifying plants, birds, and animals. So much to learn! I love going out on hikes into the back country and "discovering" so much biodiversity. Not so focused on making the miles, but appreciating and recognizing what is out there. Right now my favorite wildflower "challenges" are to learn to identify and see calochortus (Mariposa in particularr) and penstemmons. I have a long way to go!!!!! The West is my back yard.
