Join our iNaturalist CSI Webinar: A peak under the surface: What Map Turtles do in winter (and just before and after)?
You are invited to the next webinar in our iNaturalist CSI: Canadian Species Identification series on November 8th at 2:00 – 3:00 pm EST.
Each fall, Northern Map Turtles get together. They come from all over Opinicon Lake to meet where they will spend the winter months under the ice. From November to April, they are nowhere to be seen. What are they doing under the surface of the water? Under the ice? Contrary to common belief, they are not just buried in the muck waiting for spring. In this talk we will learn more about what Map Turtles do before and after winter.
Join the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) for a webinar to learn more about what Map Turtles do in winter. Presented by Dr. Greg Bulté, Biology instructor at Carleton University.
